LRVs Around The World

Artist's rendering of light rail vehicle travelling on 501 Queen route

Interested in what others have done? Here is a sampling of some of Bombardier’s recent low floor designs in use around the globe.

In many cases, the vehicle was designed to reflect the City’s character.

The LRVs in Valencia & Alicante, Spain operate in a warm climate. The vehicle is primarily black, white and grey in colour with bright orange character-lines that begin at each end of the vehicle highlighting the vehicle’s exterior lighting and then run along the length of the LRV.

The LRVs in Innsbruck, Austria are designed in the colours of the operator IVB. The rich shades of red are distinct from the colourful cityscape in the summer and particularly the snowy white, mountainous background of this city in the wintertime.

The LRVs in Augsburg, Germany are designed in the white, green and red corporate colours of the Stadtwerke Augsburg Verkehrs.

The LRVs in Marseille, France reflect the vision of ships and the sea. The vehicle’s shape, materials and colours both on the exterior and interior all echo the maritime background of the Mediterranean city.

The LRVs in Brussels, Belgium represents a modern interpretation of the Art Nouveau style and possesses a stylish colour scheme of grey and black with gold highlighting the ends and continuing as a character-line along the sides of the vehicle near the roof. These LRVs use similar colours to previous generations of rail vehicles used by the operator STIB.
